Nationwide Pet Insurance Pennsylvania Review
Nationwide is administered by DVM Insurance Agency and underwritten in Pennsylvania by National Casualty Company.
Coverage
Underwritten by National Casualty Company. The Pennsylvania sample Modular Pet Insurance form VS-G-15-PA (9-24) makes every coverage, accidents included, start after a 14-day waiting period counted from underwriting approval and payment, with no exam waiver in the form; Pennsylvania law (40 Pa.C.S. §4706(b)(1)) bans an accident waiting period, and the sample is dated before the law took effect. The form also defines a pre-existing condition more broadly than the statute (anything that began before the policy, whether or not discovered), excludes cruciate damage with signs in the first policy term, lets cruciate cover be added no earlier than 12 months after the start, at a renewal, refuses claims filed more than 12 months after treatment, and allows cancellation or non-renewal for an undisclosed health risk that existed before the policy. Its disclosure IDIP-MPI-PA (9-24) says the premium at each renewal may depend on the number and amounts of claims paid in the previous 18 months, as well as age, breed and location. The Whole Pet form VS-G-11-PA (9-24) uses a 12-month look-back for pre-existing conditions, treats chronic conditions that began before the policy as pre-existing, and excludes cruciate damage in the first 12 months, restarting that period after any gap in cover.
