ASPCA Pet Insurance Illinois Review
ASPCA is administered by PTZ Insurance Agency (Crum & Forster) and underwritten in Illinois by Independence American Insurance Company.
Coverage
ASPCA's Illinois sample is the same Independence American form as Spot's (PET-P-20000-IL-1024). It keeps a 14-day waiting period for accidents, illnesses and knee ligament conditions with no waiver by vet exam, and anything that occurs during the wait becomes pre-existing. Cured conditions are covered after 180 days free of symptoms and treatment, except chronic and knee ligament conditions. Coverage and rates can change at each renewal; some coverage changes count as a new enrollment with new waiting periods. New customers pay an enrollment fee. Claims must be filed within 270 days. Illinois rates are not filed with the state, so no rate pages are shown.

History
- Corrected the Florida rate figures: the indicated +50.14% belongs to the Pumpkin channel (all channels together: +19.69% indicated, +16.16% selected), and the PTZ increase is described as the full indicated change rather than exactly what claims needed. Clarified that California's +7.9% is the overall change across V4 products and that the 60% cap applies at each of three renewals.
- Corrected Florida base rates and wellness rates to the approved manual FL_20260724; separated the 1 January 2026 accident-wait change from the 1 October 2026 increase; marked the PTZ channel link to ASPCA as our research, not the filing; clarified age, renewal, waiver, hereditary-cover and loss-ratio wording; added BBB and Trustpilot ratings checked on 13 October 2026
