Coverage

Illinois documents name Westchester Fire Insurance Company: policy LD-50812 (07/18) with Illinois amendatory endorsement LD-50818 (09/19) and claims process endorsement PIM-52784 (10/19). The Illinois amendment removes the lifetime limit. Waiting periods: 15 days for accidents and for illness, 12 months for hip dysplasia; pets enrolled at 6 or older are never covered for hip dysplasia. A full vet exam is required in the 12 months before or the first 15 days of the policy (30 days before for pets 6 or older); until it happens, nothing is paid. Pre-existing conditions include anything detectable by a routine physical exam, with no time limit. Exam fees, dental care and special diets are excluded. Premiums rise for all policyholders with veterinary costs, but in Illinois only on the policy anniversary with 60 days' notice; your own claims do not change your coverage, but after a claim you can no longer lower the deductible or your share of the bill.
