Illinois form IAIC-PB10001-ILL (Independence American). Waiting periods: 3 days for injuries, 14 days for illness and 6 months for cruciate ligament problems, against 30 days in Florida; the insurer may shorten or waive them if a participating vet certifies the pet's health before purchase. An unlimited annual limit is offered; exam fees, take-home prescriptions and rehabilitation are add-ons that must be chosen at enrollment. Raising the limit or adding a benefit later cancels the policy and starts a new one, so anything already in the record becomes pre-existing. Covered conditions stay covered at renewal, and premiums do not change with your own claims. A repeat of the same kind of incident twice in 18 months is excluded, even if the first happened before the policy. Claims must be filed within 180 days.
