Coverage
Washington policy IAIC FPI POL WA 0724 AI2 and disclosure IAIC FPI ML NOTICE 0124 WA: no waiting period for accidents, 14 days for illness, 30 days for orthopedic illness. The waiver needs a vet exam within 7 days of the start date and the form within 7 days (the waiver form itself asks for it on the day of the exam); Figo decides within 30 days. Pets with a history of any of 20 listed conditions, including allergies and dental disease, cannot get the waiver, and anything the vet notes becomes pre-existing. Any ligament or knee problem before the start date excludes every ligament and knee condition; the same applies to allergies. After three similar claims (for example swallowed objects or bite wounds) such incidents stop being covered. Exam fees are covered only with a rider. The owner must keep up an annual health check, an annual dental exam and parasite prevention. Premiums may rise at renewal with age and veterinary cost inflation, and Figo may change terms at renewal. A cured condition is covered after 365 symptom-free days, except knee, orthopedic and chronic conditions.
